Frequently Asked Questions

What Is CensusViewer?

CensusViewer is an online application that gives you access to the Census 2010 and 2000 “Summary File 1″ data from the U.S. Census Bureau as well as selected American Community Survey (ACS) data and extensive premium data including registered voters and frequently updated commercial data sources. It is an excellent online tool for demographic analysis of the U.S. population. With CensusViewer you can navigate the census data from within the familiar Bing Maps interface. CensusViewer shows you the census data as colored images overlaid onto maps or satellite images from Bing Maps. With CensusViewer it is as if you can ‘see’ the Census data.

Do I need a subscription?

There are three CensusViewer versions: FreeBasic and Premium.

CensusViewer Basic and CensusViewer Premium require a paid subscription for access and both provide additional features and data sources. Subscriptions are recurring and available for 1-month, 3-month, 6-month and 12-month terms. You may cancel or upgrade your subscription at any time.

Click here to begin using CensusViewer Free. No registration or subscription is needed to access CensusViewer’s free version. It’s a great way to get a feel for the power, speed and flexibility of the underlying technology.  And if you like what you see, there’s a simple subscription process to unlock the additional features and premium data available in the Basic and Premium versions.

How do single and multiple-user licenses work?

Single User License

You can only log in to CensusViewer from one browser at a time and you should not share your login information with other people. If your login information is used from a second computer while you are logged in from a first computer then your first session is terminated. So if you had CensusViewer open in your office and you forget to log out before you go home you can still log in but your office computer will log out automatically.

Multi User License

Please contact Moonshadow Mobile if you need more than five licenses for your organization at
